Responsible investments and investments aligned with environment, social and governance (ESG) factors are gaining momentum globally. India continues to remain a strong investment destination for equity investors with a large chunk of the investments flowing from outside India. In this scenario what does the RI or ESG landscape in India look like?

Who are the panelists?

Neha Kumar

Senior Adviser, GIZ

Neha Kumar is working as Senior Advisor at GIZ with the Responsible Enterprise Finance Initiative. Prior to this she was managing the Indo-German Business Responsibility Initiative at GIZ – a bilateral cooperation project being implemented in partnership with IICA. She has previously worked as a non-financial risk advisor with Hill & Associates, an international consulting firm.

Sutapa Banerjee

Former CEO Private Banking, ABN AMRO Bank and Ambit

With over 23 years of experience in the financial services industry across 2 large multinational banks –ANZ Grindlays and ABN AMRO and a boutique Indian Investment bank – Ambit, Sutapa Banerjee spent the last 16 years in building and leading businesses of banks. She was voted as one of the ‘Top 20 Global Rising Stars of Wealth Manangement’ by the Institutional Investor Group in 2007.

Robert Dornau

Sr. Manager Sustainability Services, RobecoSAM

Robert has spent the last 17 years working on sustainability related topics in a diverse set of roles. As a Senior Manager in the Sustainability Services Business at RobecoSAM, he has benchmarked the sustainability performance of hundreds of large multinational companies and helped leading companies understand the requirements of sustainability from an investor perspective.

Navneet Munot *

Chief Investment Officer, SBI Mutual Fund

Navneet Munot, CFA is an Executive Director at SBI Funds Management Private Limited and has been its Chief Investment Officer since joining the firm in December 2008. He is responsible for managing Indian multi-strategy products at the firm. He has a vast experience in financial markets. Previously, Navneet was an Executive Director and Head of Multi-Strategy at Morgan Stanley Investment Management.

Avinash Kharkar

Head, Listing Compliance, National Stock Exchange

Avinash Kharkar has worked with National Stock Exchange (NSE) for more than 16 years. He is currently heading the Listing Compliance Department in the Exchange.​ He has handled the surveillance department in the past.
